Presentation of the IAT
The AeroTechnic Institute (IAT) is a public service which is attached at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) in Paris, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education. It is part of the Industrial Science and Information Technology School (Siti).
The IAT is also part of FISE Department of the ARTS Carnot Institute (icARTS) which brings together research teams and resources and expertise in the experimental fields of energy, fluid mechanics and electrical engineering.
As part of its activities, the IAT is an organization that works in partnership with numerous public and private companies in the areas of transport, energy and public works. Currently twenty people make up the staff of the IAT.
With his experience of more than a century in aerodynamics, the IAT is now positioned as a provider of industrial services and research which provides business and industry expertise and great ways of aerodynamic testing means and related sciences. Its missions mainly deal with the development and explotation of experimental facilities in aerodynamics and conducting tests and studies for businesses.
The IAT is also engaged in the pursuit of research activities in the fields of aerodynamics transportation systems (aircraft, drones, passing vehicles, unsteady phenomena, control flow, trains ...), the aeroacoustics and aerodynamics applied to the environment and its effects on structures (civil engineering).
